Destination weddings should be encouraged and promoted by the event management companies!
But to make more impact I have a few more suggestions.
Businesses and commercial establishments to close on other days than Sundays with tax incentives! For example they should declare weekly off on different days of the week either based on the type of the businesses or based on areas they operate from! The city can be divided in 3 to 5 major groups of people or zones and each one observes a different day as weekly off!! So all educational hubs can be closed on Saturdays, all govt establishments can be closed on Mondays , all businesses be divided to be closed on the rest of the days!! Also 5 days week made compulsory for all in Delhi!
Taxes should be exempted for people not owning any vehicle or for those using public transport or cycles for commuting!
Monthly quota should be fixed for petrol purchase for each vehicle with an upper limit fixed!
No of cars employed in the caravan of a minister's car should also be reduced!
Online selling and buying can be made tax free to discourage people from going for shopping in person!
Local markets and schools should be made compulsory! Each residential hub must have a school, shopping center and a hospital for emergencies!!
Let's hope things work out as a win win situation for all the stake holders!!
renu Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02992068470241687205noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273139713770751485.post-86178132654837197852015-12-16T17:08:59.636+05:302015-12-16T17:08:59.636+05:30Sir,

Also, the odd-even rule is not that bad rule as projected. Clearly, commercial vehicle ban is unthinkable and therefore only private vehicles on roads have to be properly managed to curb the pollution which is risking life of all.
As you said, other countries ,like Beijing had also similar plan and recently it also issued "Red alert" given to extremely high levels to PM. In this alert also, people are asked not to use private vehicles. Previous implementation of odd-even rule have also given significant results with up to 30-40% reduction in Beijing's pollution levels in days of enforced rule.As far as discomfort to people is concerned, I believe everyone can deal with it provided they make their mood positive instead of criticizing nature.Delhi govt. will give every possible help- closing schools for Those days, increasing Metro frequency, More DTC Buses, even launched a new app for Auto/taxi service for service. These are just some of the Initiatives I know about. We Should not rule out Odd-even simply- by not implementing it in the very 1st step. This is , I believe most suitable step given the time constraint and the dangerous levels in which Delhi- NCR is gripped in.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07379593907494506209noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273139713770751485.post-82036951174251322612015-12-10T11:34:40.611+05:302015-12-10T11:34:40.611+05:30@Mihir, thanks for your suggestions. I think pollu...@Mihir, thanks for your suggestions. I think pollution is one thing on which both Delhi Government and Central Government have convergence of purpose, and both appear very serious to handle this. I believe that the problem is that India has traditionally been very poor at collecting quality data and sharing that widely. And hence scientific decision making is very difficult. Even my suggestions are not based on any data unfortunately. In such a situation, those with louder voice and better connections tend to have unduly large influence on policy making. I wouldn't blame any one in particular for this.Dheeraj Sanghihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06367519409840642182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4273139713770751485.post-50790489414568332212015-12-10T11:08:01.758+05:302015-12-10T11:08:01.758+05:301)I ll also suggest government should make public ...1)I ll also suggest government should make public transport more faster, efficient and comfortable so that rich people also opt for public transport just like metro. Metros can be further increased.
2) Eco friendly vehicles like Electric cars, buses should be promoted.
3) Cycles need to be promoted.
4) People should be encouraged have accommodation near working place so that a lot of movement can be restrained.
5) CM should promote these usecases by first following them rather than making illogical statements and decisions.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15714415475056503300noreply@blogger.com
